The many fans of blizzard have suddenly gone in an uproar yesterday and blizzard announced that the battle.net forum would be more interactive more personal in hopes to stop the bashing and flames wars that most online forums have due to the fact no one really knows who you are other than your screen name, Battle.net forums will relaunch the forums with posters having their real first name and last name that were registered via RealID.

Now for me I’m just starting to use my real name online here at digfest, but for many there are concerns of personal safety, stalking, harassment and many other things you could possibly think of that comes with having your real name posted on a forum. Blizzard hopes that people will connect with each other better, form long lasting friendships with the people they play and converse with and I think that is a pretty great idea in theory. We’ll just have to see how it all pans out.

Blizzard will put this in when StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is launched.
