The press release yesterday was posted up on the bluetooth website, stating that specification for BT4.0 is official and is touting “low energy technology” as it’s core specification.

This low energy tech move for bluetooth is in hopes that more device companies will integrate the wireless tech into their products. Look at the benefits really:

• Ultra-low peak, average, and idle mode power consumption
• Long lasting on a standard coin-cell battery
• low cost
• Multi-Vendor Interperoability
• Enhanced Range

Let’s hope some companies pick up on this quickly, because Q4 2010 isn’t that far away from now.
