First look on the sequel to Echochrome for the Playstation 3. This sequel will be released for the PS3 Move, and will create a different kind of gameplay.
Now if you are not familiar with the style of Echochrome. The style was originated from the famous artist named M.C. Escher who created infinite realities. He made the mind believe that there is more then one way to view a certain perspective.
The first Echochrome game was a simple black and white puzzle game. You had to control the game by rotating the level using the analog controller to get your character to reach his goal. In this sequel the video shows a more colorful 3D space where you utilize the Move controller to cast shadows. So instead of rotating the entire level you will cast shadows in the background to complete your objective.
It’s a very unique game. It does separate from M.C. Escher’s work with the infinite realities. By the looks of the video it will not be as complicated as the first sequel. You are practically casting shadows keeping the character in a 2D scenario instead of a 3D scenario like the first game. I was hoping they would keep the idea of the first game. They could have revamped the graphics to drawings like M.C. Escher to make it more realistic, and challenging. We’ll just have to wait when it comes out. For now it’s an interesting concept, but not to sure if I’m fond of the whole static gameplay.
