A while back, I’ve posted about Japan’s favorite superhero, Kamen Rider X. This time, I’ll be posting about an even older favorite among the Japanese: Ultraman! *Insert Theme Song Here*
Now, I know not many of you youngsters don’t know much about Kamen Rider X, so I doubt you would even know about Ultraman. But thanks to YouTube, Wikipedia, and the interwebs, you can find just about anything from inanely interesting to flamboyantly ridiculous! Ultraman is about Hayata, part of the Science Special Search Party (SSSP), secretly transforming into the superhero Ultraman and help save Japan.
If you don’t know, Ultraman started back in the 1960′s as the forefather of the Kamen Rider X show. Ultraman possibly started the whole superhero transformation in Japan just around the same time Superman came out in America. As time progressed, Japan’s influence went strait to *dun dun dun* America’s first favorite 1990′s superheroes: The Power Rangers.
Like all famous kiddy T.V. shows, Ultraman was bound to end up as a popular video game for kids, which came out back in 1991. Ironically, while I was surfing the web today, via YouTube (thank you, Google!), I came across an interesting game review on the Ultraman game on Super Nintendo. Below, the Inecom Company‘s Classic Game Room on YouTube has blessed us with their view on Super Nintendo’s ritzy (and quite old) Ultraman game. Enjoy!
