What is “goo.gl?”

For those of you irritated at such loooooooong urls to copy and paste, there is a new site for you to go to. Google came up with this simple and easy to use url shortener called goo.gl.

Amazingly, the fun doesn’t stop here! If you’re a Google user (like myself), included with the now-short url, Goo.gl automatically saves the links you’ve “shortened,” along with the data and details of how many times you’ve used the link and how often it was used in a month:

Quite impressive, isn’t it? Not only you, the user, can use the link, but also others from across the world can use the links as well. It even lets you know what browser and operating system was used to view the page. Of course, if you’re worried about having privacy issues, you can always just use goo.gl without having to sign in to your Google account and just become a “visitor.”

Sounds complicated? Not really! I just started using this myself and I find it quite convenient when I want to share a photo with my friend without worring about having the link fit half the page. So unsightly!

So if you’re like me, and really hate having to paste long links on you blogs or profiles, I suggesting giving goo.gl a try.
