Pikapew Poop Chu [Clip] October 7, 2011 at 2:49 am

I was browsing through YouTube out of mere boredom, and came across this little gem. So I thought to myself, why the hell not? It’s not like I’ll be finishing homework anytime soon. So… TAH-DAH! A clip, from the creators of Adventure Time, makes a funny Pokémon parody of the duo, Ash Ketchum and Pikachu… about the etiquette of farting. (more…)

Homage to Hellsing June 5, 2011 at 7:24 pm

Just the other day, I was re-watching Highschool of the Dead (HOTD), and I realized something…

In the first episode, where the characters are introduced, one character stood out to me: Kohta Hirano, the “gun otaku” of HOTD.

New Thundercats Cartoon HO!!!!!!! January 26, 2011 at 10:19 pm

Thanks to Migz for sending me this link. I wasn’t aware there was a remake of the 80s cartoon, but it looks pretty nice. The only complaint I have.. what is up with the whole make them look younger? Whatever happened to the adult version? Why does every single cartoon that has to come out these days have to look as if they were in middle school or highschool? Whatever happened to the whole mature style. (more…)

gg Fansubs Calls Out Anime News Network October 20, 2010 at 2:45 pm

Fail

I found this article hilarious, and the fact that a professional business site like “ANN“ aka Anime News Network is actually downloading illegal anime fansubs so they can get the first review is a cheap shot, but you should check what gg Fansubs had to say about this.

From gg Fansubs:

“There’s this website known as ANN, right. You might have heard of it. Anime News Network, yeah? Anyway they have a lot of supporters who like hurfing a durf about how fansubs are the cancer killing the anime industry and how those filthy “hackers” stole Oreimo episode 2 and fucked everyone over, etc etc.

Well, they also have a season preview every season, and of course the question is how they get to watch all these anime series to comment on them so soon after airing. Most of their writers explicitly state in their bios that they don’t live in Japan, so they sure aren’t watching it on TV, and there aren’t any legal alternatives for people living in the US for some of these shows. So obviously they watch fansubs, or illegally downloaded raws. If you want proof of this accusation just wander over to, for example, the associate editor Gia Manry’s preview page and take a look at the Psychic Detective Yakumo screenshot. Do you see anything suspicious? Like, subtitles? Yeah. That series isn’t licensed, so there’s your proof.”

If you guys don’t know what fansubs are, they are unofficial subs made by fans because they love anime. They translate all the anime from Japan to English for the non Japanese speaking viewers. Now you might wonder but don’t they already have official subs for those animes? Well not likely since it takes time, and money to translate especially coming from Japan. That’s why you have “gg Fansubs” who work hard on these subs so people don’t have to wait a few years to get a complete translation.

I don’t find it a bad thing since it educates people in Japanese, and also promotes it to other countries besides Japan. But the fact that “ANN” supporters  considers it a “cancer” to the anime industry makes it funny.

Thanks to EJ for this article.

Linkin Park Gundam Model September 21, 2010 at 11:17 pm

As a part of Japan’s promotion of Linkin Park’s “A Thousand Suns” album, Bandai’s released a limited edition Linkin Park Gundam, named the HGUC 1/144 RX-78GP01Fb Gundam GP01Fb Full Vernian “Linkin Park Edition.”

Anyone who’s familiar with Gundam will know that R-78 means this is a variation on the classic Gundam, from the original series Mobile Suit Gundam. The new Linkin Park single “The Catalyst” was used in the Japanese arcade game Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs, so it’s a bit of a cross promotion.

Farewell Satoshi Kon August 25, 2010 at 12:45 pm

Paprika (2006, Japan) Directed by Satoshi Kon Shown: Director Satoshi Kon

Long live Satoshi Kon you will forever be missed, and I hope you enjoy your new journey into the place that you have always dreamed of. I will never forget your great works such as Paranoia Agent, and Paprika. My two favorite animes that really expanded my mind through psychology, and creativity.

paprikaParanoia Agent

If you haven’t seen his animations you should. It’s just mind blowing, and it really messes with your head. I’ve never seen any other animation that deals heavily on subjective reality. We won’t forget what he has done for the anime community, and also a person who has given us the opportunity to dream beyond our reality.

Anime Expo’s Dance to Darkwave [Clip] July 29, 2010 at 10:43 pm

For those of you who went to the Anime Expo (AX2010) Earlier this year in July, you’re in for a surprise!  Tank9 from YouTube compiled a nice video of you awesome cosplayers dancing to Aural Vampire‘s song called “Economical Animal Superstar”.

Also Check out Tank9′s other YouTube videos while you’re at it. I found them to be pretty entertaining since some have the “dubbed” feel to it. Made me laugh so hard when I watched their recent video: Legendary Hero of Legends.

It’s hilarious and epicly nerdy! :3 Enjoy!

The Avengers Animated First Trailer at 9:26 pm

Avengers Animated

While we wait for the actual Avengers to gather in the movies, Marvel gives us a sneak peak of their Animated Avenger series. While I am glad that they upped their game by bringing back the franchise, I’m just worried they might mess up the series with the whole teeny bopper attitude like what they did with X-Men Evolution.
