One Manga Finally Shutting Doors July 27, 2010 at 7:06 am

Surprise, surprise. Did anyone see this coming? I, like many of you, love to go to One Manga to get my anime grub on. I’m really sad to see it go as it is one of the best sites to read mangas.

A friend of mine has told me about their demise, so I had to see for myself what was really going on. The result? I found a letter to the public:

It pains me to announce that this is the last week of manga reading on One Manga (!!). Manga publishers have recently changed their stance on manga scanlations and made it clear that they no longer approve of it. We have decided to abide by their wishes, and remove all manga content (regardless of licensing status) from the site. The removal of content will happen gradually (so you can at least finish some of the outstanding reading you have), but we expect all content to be gone by early next week (RIP OM July 2010).” – One Manga

If you haven’t seen this letter yet, you would be quite as surprised as I was when I found this little present when I visited the One Manga site. But I do hope you have enough time to read all your favorite mangas to your computer because every single piece will be removed by next week. *Insert sad face here*

Sayonara, OM. We will miss you!

It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s Stan Lee’s New Superheroes!!!! at 6:12 am

At San Diego’s Comic Con, Stan Lee partnered with BOOM Studios, has revealed his three new characters! How exciting!

Solider Zero, Starborn, and The Traveler are Stan Lee’s new addition to his family of superheroes with a new twist, I might add! These sexy, 2D heart throbs all have one thing in common: outer space. The storylines to these stories are pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.  Underwire quotes:

“Boom Studios’ chief creative officer Mark Waid, writer of time-bending series The Traveler, said the new comics would be inspirational and noncynical, without resorting to a retro feel. He also said the characters would breathe with the kind of human foibles for which Lee’s creations are known.”

I’m not talking about anything akin to Invader Zim or Ben 10 (I used to love that show!), my friends. Oh no, this is something more epic: Intergalaxtic superheroes! Totally nerd-worthy! :D

Comic Con in San Diego, California! July 15, 2010 at 10:36 pm

That’s right, my non-huggable, scruffy nerds! the Comic Convention is coming up real fast this year! Located in San Diego, California, the Con is going to be hot, hot, HOT (You gotta love California weather)! Comic Con will be from July 22 through July 25 at the San Diego Convention Center and will also have Preview Night on July 21st.

And speaking of preview, Blastr has conveniently given us a sneak peek at the Comic Con’s goody bags, made by Warner Brothers, that will be given away upon entrance. These bags will come in different face designs, but all are a must see!

Doesn’t it make you feel like you’re a kid again? I know I do!

The picture to the right is one of the many bags that will be given away at Comic Con (I do hope that you guys are going). This bag has the Brightest Day comic printed on the front. The Green Lantern, The Flash, Hawk, and many others can be seen here on this picture. Let’s hope they don’t run out of these during the con!

If you can’t attend Comic Con this month (like broke, little me), the Alternative Press Expo (APE) will be coming up this October at The Concourse in San Fransisco, California. I will be going to this expo rather than Comic Con (boo hoo), so I’ll keep you guys tabbed if anything more comes up.

Black ★ Rock/Vocaloid-tastic! July 8, 2010 at 6:54 pm

Like anime? Love anime? Do you watch it every so often or every day? Are you otaku-like or a crazy weaboo? Either way, my anime lovers, you’ll be excited to hear this news.

For those of you keeping track of the “Black ★ Rock Shooter” anime, a 50-minute OVA, then you know of its stream on the Nico Nico Douga website that started back this past June on the 25th. Amazingly, the theme song was done by Vocaloid’s beloved Hatsune Miko (insert screaming fans here). What is even more amazing is what is happening now at the 2010 Wonder Festival Summer Venue!

Right now, Directory Shinobu Yoshioka, Producer Takashi Bum Ahn Arts, and Supervisor Yamamoto Hiroshi of “Black ★ Rock“  will be at the 2010 Wonder Festival with a amazing stage show for every faithful fan to see as well as new Black ★ Rock products, exhibits, and figurines (picture courtesy of Animeraku).

New Pokemon Series Ash Steps Down July 3, 2010 at 3:16 pm

New Pokemon Series Best wishes

The Pokemon series aka “Pocket Monster” in Japan has been running since 1997.  But this fall everything will change.  A new series will be arriving called “Best Wishes!” after the end of the Diamond & Pearl series. It will have new characters, a new storyline, and a new location.

Yes fans! Ash along with his buddies won’t be there anymore.  Pokemon is getting the overhaul after 13 years.  Can you believe that?  13 years! The first time I watched Pokemon was  when I was 15 years old, and now I’m 28. Heck! I didn’t even know the series was still running.  I thought it was reruns.
